100% Agree! Wobei ich den abschließenden "Alleingang" Frodos (Boot - Sam folgt ihm, und ersäuft fast) auch sehr anrührend/emotional fand.
Und ja - ich habe geheult...mehrfach..auch nachdem ich, gerade den ersten Teil, bereits zum dritten Mal (Kino) besucht/gesehen hatte.
Sehr emotional fand ich auch die nachfolgende Szene (Frodo im Gebirge...und dazu noch die Musik!), als Gandalf vom Balrog in die Tiefe gezogen wurde.
